Nidal Malik Hasan Awake – Fort Hood shooting suspect Nadal Malik Hasan is awake, in stable condition, and able to talk at an Army hosiptal in San Antonio.
Nidal Malik Hasan has not yet been charged with the shooting and is only being referred to as ‘the suspect’ and investigators have not yet determined a motive.
It appears that retired Col. John P. Galligan is acting as attorney for Hasan after being contacted by his family but did not have details about Hasan’s condition.
A website of a radical American imam living in Yemen who was associated with several of the 9/11 attackers praised Hasan as a hero. The website for Anwar Awlaki, a spritual leader at the mosque where some of the 9/11 hijackers worshiped said that any American Muslim who condemned the attack at Fort Hood by Nidal Malik Hasan were hypocrites and were committing treason against their religion. Awlaki stated that the only reason a Muslim should serve in the US military is to “follow in the footsteps of men like Nidal.”
Oh, but we’re not supposed to profile, right? We certainly wouldn’t want to offend anyone, right? During and after his recovery, maybe they should consider NOT putting him on suicide watch, but just make sure he doesn’t take any more innocent American citizens with him.
