Cash For Clunkers Appliances – Cash for Clunkers for appliances will now take the place of Cash for Clunkers CARS and here is how it works.

Unlike the cars government program, Cash for Clunkers Appliances has a different twist and that is that you don’t have to turn in your old appliance to be destroyed. You simply get a $300 rebate for the purchase of an energy efficient appliance.

Congress recently passed a Cash for Clunkers appliance program and funded it with $300 million. The program which is being touted as an economy stimulus and an environmentally friendly program will begin in late fall 2009.

What a bunch of crap. Just like the cash for clunkers bill for cars . I am getting DAMN tired of funding everyone elses good fortune, while every vehicle in our fleet does not qualify for the cash(although most are 15-20 years old), and I just finished paying off several new appliances that we have replaced on our own. Which I might add, was to help save electricity. Now the power companies can also raise my rates 25% , to make up for what they didn’t get when I lowered my bill. Now, I can help pay for everyone else AGAIN!!! Nothing like well thought out government spending to really sour my thoughts on this administration. I wish they could all live in that hard hit area of our society. Just above help and government aid, but far below affording a mortgage AND a couple car payments. Way to go Obama. The only thing plummeting faster than your approval rating is your chances of being re-elected. I don’t understand why we are letting our government spend record amounts of money at a record pace. SOMEONE eventually has to pay for it . Cash for appliances, what next? Ridiculous. Just as stupid as cash for clunkers is. It helps a very small group of people , and once again, funded by the taxpayers. When do I get MY new vehicles , new appliances, and my mortgage rates slashed to next to nothing ?

Keith,
Move over –
I am in the exact same boat. Our vehicle 96 Lumina did not quality because of the 3.1 vs 3.3 engine although it was 13 years old and just purchased three new appliances…….
