Young Mom Dies After MySpace Meeting – A young North Carolina mom named Nichole Alloway dies mysteriously after meeting a MySpace friend named Dillon Maring in Ohio.
20-year old Nichole Alloway, mom of two toddlers, traveled from Spring Hope, NC, to Portsmouth, Ohio, in mid-May to meet with 18-year old Dillon Maring whom she had met on MySpace.
Alloway called home daily to check on her children, then asked her family to wire her money for a bus ticket home. Her grandmother said she picked up the money in early June but never got on the bus home.
Alloway’s body was found in mid-July in an abandoned house in Otway, Ohio, 20 miles from Portsmouth.
Ohio police have not named Dillon Maring a suspect in the case, but are still investigating.
Alloway’s grandmother, Diane Dille, told reporters that the young mom had a bad feeling about the trip to meet her MySpace friend as she got on the bus.
“She got her first foot on that step and held onto the railing, and she turned to me and said, ‘Grandma, I got a bad feeling about this,’” Dille said. “I said, ‘Well then, don’t go. Stay here.’ She said, ‘No, I gotta go.’”
