100 Black Men of Atlanta – 100 Black Men of Atlanta hits the press today when Senator Barbara Boxer got in a scuffle with the group CEO.

This information is not about the racial implications of that. What it is about is this: Why is there a organization called 100 Black Men of Atlanta?

If there were an organization called the 100 White Men of Atlanta it would be racist and supremist. Oh, that’s right, 100 White Men of Atlanta would be called…. wait for it…. The Klan!
Now we’re sure that 100 Black Men of Atlanta does very noble, philanthropic things. But if we want racial divides to completely go away, why do we continue to draw that racial divide? Why do we need 100 Black Men of Atlanta, the NAACP, Jesse and Sharpton? Aren’t we at long last equal?
Apparently not with groups like 100 Black Men of Atlanta still in evidence.
And that’s the latest news about the 100 Black Men of Atlanta.

There will never be a post racial society as long as racism still exists. Remember, for all of you who keep wondering why the need for black groups, as well as Ebony, Essence, and Jet magazines, it is because we were never on the cover of white mags, nor included in anything of importance. The implications of that is that black boys and girls grew up feeling inferior to the whte race, and decided to play the game too, but out of necessity. So they decided to create their own mags and put themselves on the cover. The black groups that sprang up and still spring up is in response to being left out of board rooms, country clubs, state fairs, and society, so we retreated out of necessity to our own, to build up our own self-esteem, to esteem each other, to push each other to the next level. This was not our fault. You can’t victimize the victim. Try blaming the majority ruled who make up the rules. When the rules get played by someone else, there is a problem. By the way, things have come a long way by the grace of God. Now we get to decide if we want to join any group, and that is progress.
