John Carroll University - Alumnus Tim Russert died of a heart attack today at the age of 58. Russert graduated from John Carroll University in 1972.

John Carroll University is located in University Heights, Ohio and is a Catholic and Jesuit private university.

Tim Russert was most known for being the moderator of NBC’s Meet the Press since 1991.
“The entire John Carroll University community is deeply saddened by the loss of this distinguished alumnus. Tim exemplified the Jesuit Catholic mission. He lived by a simple philosophy – and that is, there is a world beyond yourself. Tim truly was a man for others. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family,” said Rev. Robert L. Niehoff, John Carroll University president.
Tim Russert was president of the Student Union at John Carroll University, and a respected campus figure during the Vietnam War era of protests on college campuses. Russert won the Robert Beaudry Man of the Year Award in his senior year and received an honorary doctorate in 1997.
