This article is not completely accurate with the list of store closings. Do your homework better before posting.

Check this out. Some of the information listed here is inaccurate or out of date
November 20th, 2008 at 11:10 am
This is totally innacurate.
The SEC has no filings for JJill closings.
Why not spend your time posting correct information.
November 20th, 2008 at 1:17 pm
I am an employee at J. Jill and can vouch that our retail stores are not closing. Please correct your information, it is very bad for business.
November 20th, 2008 at 2:32 pm
You need to find something else to do. How about applying for a job at one of these businesses you are publishing false reports about?
November 20th, 2008 at 3:02 pm
To Tasha and Mike,
So, are the J Jill stores closing? Where are you getting your info? I am just a consumer, but for several years, J Jill is my one and only favorite store.
November 20th, 2008 at 6:15 pm
Please provide solid evidence that J.Jill and Talbot’s are both closing all stores.
November 20th, 2008 at 11:30 pm
re: JJill – NO announcement of this kind has been made to the SEC. This is false information – please clarify for your readers. You can check the Talbots corporate site – an SEC announcement would have to be listed there.
November 22nd, 2008 at 2:34 am
Please cite your references before stating what you believe is fact. No announcements have been made to the JJill closings. Talbots is placing JJill up for sale, but absolutely NO WORD has been announced indicating a closure of stores.
As another commenter put it, do your homework before posting inaccurate information. That homework does NOT include copying and pasting information from another dumb site!

As an employee at J.Jill hearing the concerns of guest that love patronizing this wonderful affordable store I find it sad that false info could be passed around without obtaining the facts first.
Our first priority is helping our guest in a relaxing atomsphere where shopping is fun for them and a pleasure for us to help them. I can only say STOP THE MADDNESS!

The fact that Talbot’s is seeking a buyer for the J Jill clothing store has nothing to do with a supposed SEC filing about closing the stores… This posting is flying around the internet and will no doubt kill their business and put people out of work. Shame on you.
November 24th, 2008 at 11:11 pm
Please refer to the J Jill website for the most accurate information. J Jill is NOT closing any doors. On the main page there is a banner that reads “Our Response to Recent Gift Card Concerns”. There you will find a letter from the President of J Jill, Paula Bennett, and that should clarify any false statements made on this blogsite. Thank you to our loayl customers for your continued support of our brand – we recongize the wonderful woman in all of you.
November 25th, 2008 at 3:53 pm
You could get sued for this. Try fact checking at Snopes.com and stop taking your information from spam e-mails.
November 25th, 2008 at 4:29 pm
Seeking a buyer for is nowhere near closing all stores! come on! Get your facts straight. If you go to the jjill.com website there is a banner you can click on that debunks this email.
November 25th, 2008 at 9:30 pm
I think the main tip off that your facts are questionable is that you are not even using the correct name of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. There is no doubt that retail is in trouble, but I agree that you shouldn’t be spreading unsubstantiated rumors, and not differentiating between closing underperforming locations and companies going out of business.
November 27th, 2008 at 1:17 pm
Re: Boston Globe article on JJill sale – so where in that article does it say Talbots is closing all JJill stores?? No such thing has been decided. Inaccurate information like that which you originally posted has caused our stores a lot of problems!
November 30th, 2008 at 1:24 am
Some people are good at reading, and others at jumping to conclusions…obviously the author is better at the latter!
December 2nd, 2008 at 5:09 pm
Obviously the author is ethically-challenged. In our current economic climate, what can possibly be gained by spreading crap like this? Makes me wonder if I’ve acquired a computer virus from visiting this site… I won’t be back.
December 2nd, 2008 at 8:51 pm
WRONG! I work for the J. Jill Distribution Center, they are only being put on the market for sale. Get your information correct and stop the gossip!
December 8th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
ESPECIALLY IN THIS ECONOMIC ENVIRONMENT IT IS IRRESPONSIBLE TO WRITE SUCH INACCURATE INFORMATION.
I SPOKE TO J.JILL AND THEY SAY THEY ARE NOT CLOSING ALL THEIR STORES AND WILL CONTINUE TO ADD NEW LOCATIONS IN 09.
SHAME ON YOU!
December 8th, 2008 at 10:37 pm
The info on KB is also BAD. It is citing a 2006 press release and one of the original store closings.
December 11th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
I AM JJILL INFORMED AND AN EMPLOYEE!!!! DON’T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ. THIS WEBSITE HAS NOT DONE IT’S HOMEWORK. TALBOTS CLOSED IT’S TALBOTS FOR MEN AND TALBOTS FOR KIDS STORES YEAR ALONG WITH A HANDFUL OF NON PRODUCING JJILL STORES IN FEB OF THIS YEAR. YOUR SITE AND MISINFORMATION COULD KILL A BUSINESS BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT INFORMED.
J JILL IS CLOSING THE GILROY OUTLET LOCATED IN THE BAY AREA AND STILL OPENING NEW STORES IN 2009
DO YOURSELF AND SO MANY OTHERS A FAVOR, GO TO THE SOURCE. DID YOU KNOW THAT TALBOTS/JJILL IS UNDER ADVISEMENT AS TO PURSING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST THE WEBSITE AND PERSON/PERSONS PUTTING THIS ERRONEOUS INFORMATION OUT? I SAY GO FOR IT!
December 27th, 2008 at 4:56 pm
First new? How about questionable news? Moron.
January 5th, 2009 at 1:23 am
What a rip to the Consumers. Talk about hurting the Holidcay Season with Guests preferring not to purchase Gift Cards….well, this type of incomplete gossip did hurt some somes, but with our excellent Sales Associates talking up our Store, we still made our Revenue Goals for December. Now get this darned incorrect information about Talbots/J. Jill Closing Stores off this site. You are only do damage unnecessairly.
January 10th, 2009 at 5:03 am
The J. Jill store at Park City in Lancaster PA is closing this month. The store has been open for only about a year but I know that other locations are not slated to close including 2 nearby Talbotts. I will say that this store made no sense to me since it was incredibly tiny and carried a very limited selection.
May 3rd, 2009 at 11:08 pm
how can i obtain a list of store liquidation by date, i am opening a store and wanted to buy store fixtures out of liquidation to cut cost
June 25th, 2009 at 9:07 am
I do not know about the actual store closings – i know of none in New York Proper {The 5 Boroughs}; I do know that I still receive J. Jill’s catalogues on a regular basis.
Their sales are considerable,I must say. And their clothing is feminine without being frilly…
Thanx.

Well the story is finally true. J. Jill in Albany NY is closing right now.
August 18th, 2009 at 1:22 pm
Well, I went to my favorite J Jill yesterday and almost bumped head-on into the closed door. The store was completely shut down. This was in FL at the Palm Beach Gardens Mall.
So, what’s going on?
June 22nd, 2011 at 10:44 am
Thank you so much , this article very good , thank you very much…
August 23rd, 2011 at 4:13 pm
So 3 years later, and J. Jill, Talbots, Piercing Pagoda, and Cache are still open…
How this article is still up to this date baffles me.

The JJill in my town is open and I shop there all the time
