Sex Offenders Pumpkin Sign – Sex offenders in Maryland and Missouri must post this Scarlett Pumpkin sign to keep children away from their homes this Halloween.

The sex offenders pumpkin sign must be posted, convicted offenders must stay home, turn off their lights and not answer the door on Halloween or face parole violation charges.

Residents in Maryland are also receiving pamphlets warning parents to keep children away from homes displaying the “No Candy at This Residence” sign.

In Missouri who also requires the sex offenders pumpkin sign, also being called the ‘Scarlett Pumpkin’, four convicted sex offenders along with the American Civil Liberties Union are challenging the law in federal court.

“We’ve had very good results,” said Wonda Adams, a supervisor at the Parole and Probation Division and coordinator of the Halloween watch program.
