RightChange.com - RightChange.com cuts though all the media garbage and concentrates on what is real, what really matters, and how to make an informed decision - Here’s how.

RightChange.com is a North Carolina based non-profit organization that filters out the media spin and drills down into facts.

Right Change looks at ‘just what kind of change are we talking’ about or is change just the buzz word for the 2008 election.

How much is this change going to cost? Who pays for this change? RightChange says that it focuses on the next generation, not the next election. Okay, sounds smart so far, huh?
Of particular interest are the 10 Things You Need To Know About Obama’s Tax Proposals from:
RightChange.com
1. Small main street businesses would be forced to pay tax rates as high as 62.3% under Senator Obama’s tax proposals.
2. Senator Obama’s tax plan would tax small businesses at a higher rate than Wal-Mart!
3. Taxes on retirement income and savings could increase by at least 33%, hitting millions of seniors when they need these resources the most.
4. 4 million workers over the age of 50 – those eagerly looking forward to retirement – would be hit with increased tax bills.
5. Millions of Americans would only keep 38 cents of every dollar that they earn.
6. Senator Obama’s tax plan would reduce the after tax wages of millions of workers by 17.7%.
7. It will take 227 days per year, nearly 8 months, just to pay your tax bill!
8. 97,065 carpenters, 110,908 police officers, 254,992 nurses, 208,562 postsecondary teachers and 237,000 dentists would see tax increases, if the earnings cap was successfully eliminated.
9. 10.3 million workers would see an average of $5,650 taken from their paycheck and given to government programs.
10. Even YOU might be considered “Rich.”
RightChange states that, “In fact, we often hear politicians making grand promises with other people’s money. That is, with our money.”

We can’t afford any president that see’s higher taxes as the answer to our economic problems. In addition we have to maximize on ALL our energy resources to overcome our addiction on foreign oil.

Clearly you’re anti Obama..which by default makes you pro-McCain….I haven’t made up my mind yet but I’m really not happy with either of them. Given whats going on in the Market….Ron Paul is looking better all the time. We need to be an independent nation again. Our national Security is at stake. Currently I’m pushing the Pickens Plan to stop the transfer of wealth out of our country. We need our OWN resources as soon as possible to stop the bleeding. We need to push for the Pickens energy plan so that we can bring short term and long term gains back into our own economy. Thanks….

I am so sick of getting hit every time I turn around by someone wanting a piece of my pie. I get a large portion takin before I get my pay check. When I go to feed my family by purchasing food I get hit with more taxes. When I go to pay my phone bill I am hit again with taxes discuised as fees and other charges. Did you know that the tax levied to pay for the Spanish American war is stll hidden in the phone bill? Insurance prices are rising through the roof, property taxes are outrages, energy prices are crazy and now we are bailing out fat cat for making risky loans to people that should not have been given these loans. By the way, the execs. of these large firms that mismanaged them are still walking away with Billions. I am mad as hell and I will be visiting Washington with a pitch fork in one hand and the constitution in the other. Want to join me?

You know, it would be easier to believe this site if it presented both sides…. Anyone know of a website that actually does. To bad there is no place to turn were both sides are compaired fairly and accurately.
September 23rd, 2008 at 8:59 pm
Anyone who has not made up their mind on whom to vote for probably should not be allowed to vote at all! We have two candidates who are so totally different from each other! Our family is voting for the American hero who is qualified to be Commander In Cheif of our military! We are all voting for the man who has the intelligence to select a woman for his running mate-behind every good man is a woman! We may just be 3 of us in California and our votes may not count because this is a bleeding heart liberal state-but we are voting for the hero!
McCain-Palin in 2008, the real change!
September 23rd, 2008 at 9:05 pm
How can anyone think that more taxes and bigger government is better for this country?? John McCain is not as conservative as I’d like, but he’s far better than the alternative!
September 23rd, 2008 at 9:16 pm
I dare RIghtChange to cite the page and paragraph of the Obama Tax Plan, that are the bases for the claims in “10 Things You Need To Know About Obama’s Tax Proposals.”
They can’t because there is no basis in fact. McCain’s numbers are slipping and Republicans are grasping at anything to make Obama look bad.
Obama worked his way up from a broken home to Harvard University, where he became the first black editor of the Harvard Law Review and later taught Constitutional law.
McCain graduated close to the bottom of his Academy class, and lost 5 aircraft in Viet Nam, only one to actual enemy fire.
while imprisoned in Hanoi he traded classified information for better treatment.
Obama is still married to his first wife.
McCain divorced his first wife after she was involved in a massive car accident. He married his current wife less than two months later.
McCain’s ads say Obama’s tax plan will tax retirement benefits.
In fact Obama’s tax plan with reduce taxes by $1000 to anyone that makes less than $250,000
McCain’s tax plan will place taxes on employer health benefits -
Don’t read this crap.
Look it up. Decide for yourself.

I read your misinformation with a keen eye toward objectivity. You have none. I wish you would have documented the “facts” with sources that could br verified. Until then you are nothing more than a sponsored hit piece. Why not tell us who and where your funding comes from.

Republicans put “no bailouts for corporations” in their 2008 platform. Now they’re for it. Republicans have grown the size of government over the last 8 years. BIG GOVERNMENT. The wall-street bailout privatizes profits and socializes losses. Do you get it? They are taking your money and taxes and giving them to big corporations! Why? Because of GREED! The Republican Party is the Party of Greed! They lie to you to stay in power! The Democratic Party has become the party of fiscal conservatism. If you don’t believe it, you are lying to yourself. Save your country from greed and powermongers and VOTE for anyone BUT the Republicans!

I can not ynderstand why so many people are for Obama. He said from the very beginning that taxes would be raised. That means us, the average working person ,paying for all the pet projects he wants to implement. He has no foreign policy at all. All I have seen is his lips flapping in the breeze and I still don’t hear anything.
September 24th, 2008 at 9:52 am
They all lie to get what they want, then stick it to WE the PEOPLE! They no longer serve WE the PEOPLE,WE the PEOPLE SERVE THEM!
It’s long past the time for a 3rd Party! Start with the grass roots and up to the top office of the land. U.S.A FIRST! is the battle cry.

Er, uh, don’t you mean rightWINGchange.com? Or is that rightWINGNUT.com? I’m old enough to have had my rescue helicopter shot up over North Vietnam a year before McCain was shot down, and I was an Indiana Goldwater Republican when I joined the Navy. I’ve seen a lot of things go by, and I’ve seen who brought about this economy with only a few huge corporations and only a few huge banks, and the cheerleaders for that concentration of wealth and power were Republicans and Democrats in the hands of corporate interests. Don’t pretend to be for the little guy when you’re the ones who’ve been kicking hte little guy and the small businessman in the face for over 30 years.

As a hostage, by definition, your liberty has been removed, or depending on the circumstances, at least diminished. The ever expanding US government, through taxes (intimidating IRS apparatus) and regulations, encroaches relentlessly into our lives. Touted by the chattering classes’ as progress, the taking of personal property rights and medaling in traditional group (Boy Scouts, marriage … etc) affairs has reached the threshold of totalitarianism.
Like the proverbial frog in the sauce pan, most citizens are distracted and placated by their comfortable standard of living. This scenario has been accurately depicted by numerous authors over two thousand years of history. There are examples of civilizations failing entirely under these vary circumstances. The unconscionable run-up in the national debt is a primary ingredient.
For those who are well off financially, and therefore have much social freedom, the affect is less severe. Those in the upper-class, those with the most power to affect change, are not likely to pursue real improvement. Those less educated, those in the lower-classes, have resolved themselves to the oppressive burden (by the “man”) of ever present government. The “Stockholm syndrome” has taken affect; some hostages are defending, even encouraging, their captures for increasing their bondage.
More at stake than the US as we know it, if that is not enough for you. Most hostages are not aware (quiz one on the street) of the unprecedented freedom and opportunity available in the US. That fact contributes to the question of Western civilization’s survival. Not appreciating what you have reduces your anxiety about loosing it.
The US has been the engine for prosperity (a prerequisite for freedom) and liberty around the globe, since winning WWII for the “free world”. True to the founders’ vision, in the interim, President Ronald Reagan won WWIII. A healthy economy, including a vary large middle-class, and vigilance by those same middle-class patriots is necessary to preserve our Country as originally intended.
During the depression of the early 1930s many unemployed took refuge on family farms for basic necessaries. The drastic reduction, through to current times, of such agrarian life negates that opportunity. A macro-economic failure of that magnitude in modern time would result in a global catastrophe, beyond any historic proportion, a new “dark ages” in extreme.
The entire world would be subject to military conflict. Modern surveillance, communications, and the speed of force deployment would make a secrete operation (as in the movies) by the “good guys” impossible. Tyranny would be the norm world wide; the fascist “strong man” and slavery would rule. Countries currently with a dictatorial central government (i.e. Russia & China) will have a head-start in the fight for resources to supple their military.
The tipping point has arrived.
Construction Budget Management by Richard Lingensjo
is the blueprint to initiate the reduction in the size of government.
This book is not the sanitized bean-counter version, rather, the universal antidote for those perpetrating PC deception. My work has the caustic ingredient necessary to penetrate the bureaucracy.

This all seems so one-sided. I’m trying to decide on which candidate to vote for, not which one to bash.
I came to this site to get both sides of a story. It’s all sku’d to one side.
How does this help?
Don’t be so narrow minded! If your going to list what one candidate’s platform will do to “Small main street businesses” tax rates, for example, show the other candidate’s platform too.

Yeah, sure you did, Lisa! I checked it too, and not all them are false!
September 25th, 2008 at 1:02 am
I am a 35yr old contractor and former elementary school teacher and not rich according to Obama. I don’t like Mccain and I don’t like Obama. I am forced to vote for the lesser of two evils. What effects me and my family the most is taxes. According to Obama he wont raise my taxes, but he will raise taxes on those making over 250k and corportations though capital gains and payroll taxes. I do not come from wealth I spent 2.5 years in highschool homeless living in cars and hotels with my family. I worked my ass off got a 4yr degree and now I am a small business owner. I understand business and corportions. Yes according to Obama he will not raise my personal income tax as long as I make under 250k. However if you understand business you know that corporations do not pay taxes they pass them on to the consumer. Therefore, everybody will pay more in taxes indirectly, which will effect the poor and middle class the most. Most corporations do not care about employees and if corporations are forced to pay more in taxes and can’t pass it on to the consumer. Employees will be layed off as the corporations will be forced to cut back on expenses. Personally if I have to pay more in taxes directly or indirectly I will be forced to lay off employees or cut back their hours.
The problem in our country does not have to do with revenue it has to do with spending. We have a congress with an approval rating of 9 percent. Yes most people hate Bush, but Congress loves to spend our money. The more money we give the government the more they spend. They create bigger and bigger programs that require more money as time goes on. Members of Congress on both sides tack on their pet projects known as pork barrel to bills that they know will be passed. Bills like funding for troops. Members of congress waist our money with little accountability. We have a president that will not veto a bill. So both the Dem controlled Congress and the Rep President are to blame for our Debt.
My only choice is to vote for Mccain the lesser of two evils as he will not increase taxes (my number one issue) and has never accepted a pork barrel project and plans to veto any bill with it. That means he will cut spending. Obama said he wants to create new programs for education and healthcare. Why do we keep looking for the govenment to solve our problems by creating more programs. Have you ever been to the DMV or a community clinic or dealt with Medicare or Social Security or any other Government run program. The govenment has no idea how to run a business or stay within a budget. All they know how to do is spend our money and when they run out ask us for more and more.
Obama also says that he is only going to increase taxes on the rich. Explain to me how that does not effect the working class. The rich buy things and employee people. Poor people don’t hire me, rich people hire me to build for them as they have extra money to spend. When the rich hire me I hire other people. I buy materials to build. That means I support other business who make those products and who hire people.
Don’t vote on emotion and words such as hope and change. First figure out what that change is and vote on logic and fact and what effects you and your’re family.
September 25th, 2008 at 7:01 am
I am pretty sure these numbers are off a bit and I am voting for McCain. The reason I am voting for Mccain is I think people should take care of them selfs. I don’t want more tax dollars going to people who can’t or won’t take care of them selfs. If anything Obama should agree with me comming from a broken home, did hard work and made it to Harvard. But now he wants to give those who are too lazy to work my hard earned money. I don’t want my tax dollars given to idiots with no job who for some reason keep having kids. Forget about wallstreet bail out, the Democrats want to bail out those who can’t afford to eat but still buy big shiny rims for their escalade. People who make bad investments should not get bailed out, weather it’s a massive company or your neighbor down the street.
September 25th, 2008 at 8:19 am
Randy: You’re absolutly right. I lay bricks, poor people do not hire me,to build them A fireplace.Only the rich do that. Increase ther tax burden, and I’m out of bussiness.
September 25th, 2008 at 10:17 am
I do like your commercial…it says it all very well…..be careful what change you are voting for…..Obama is a ’star’ and therefore gives stars in your eyes so can you really see clearly?? Look people, we only truly do have two choices…..not a third party in these times. Sure you have a right to make a statement but at what cost? Cut your nose off to spite your face? I am in independent but Obama is a ‘muslim’, only a small fraction of him is black. It is cool to have a first ‘black’ president but….his ideals are not for the people of this country, unless you are a socialist. We are not a socialist country. For those you of who think that the rich need to pay more taxes…..guess what, they do…..they help with the economy more than someone who doesn’t have as much. I work my ass off and I am not rich….I work my ass off but I do not want government telling me I need to give the money I make to them…. I don’t want to pay more taxes either. I pay enough. For those of you who think we need to pay more taxes…..Obama plan…..go ahead….give them more of your money….after all, that’s what you want right??
For ‘Fatman’…get your facts straight…..McCain did not trade classified information for better treatment…..Now hear this…..Your Fonda woman gave help to Vietnamese which lent to severe punishment to the prisoners of war….our men…..our men that gave their lives to help to protect YOUR freedom…our freedom…..I bet you ‘FATMAN’ wouldn’t even know what that is all about. Obama is making himself look bad…it is not taking a republican to do that. Randy the contractor has very good points.
Another point I want to make is this; for people that are pro choice…….how can you condemn people that ‘hunt’ and call them ‘murderers’ but you can kill or abort a baby and not call that murder? Don’t you see something wrong with that?? Isn’t that a double standard??
I as an independent have finally made up my mind…..I am voting McCain-Palen. Thanks for all your insight.
September 25th, 2008 at 10:24 am
newt is right pickins is right paul is right what happened to common sense if I was bin ladin I would wait and let the infedels set theirself up for another killing blow do any of these market rescue idiots understand what these economic failures are doing to our national security we are giving america to foriegn owned banks why does caterpillar have to borrow money from china to make payroll why does the government borrow money from china to buy opec oil to fill up the stratigic reserves ron pual get your ass out there right now the american people will listen to common sense or maybe we are doomed to fail maybe the depression of the 30’s wasn’t so bad we lived thru it this one we might not
September 25th, 2008 at 10:58 am
My thoughts on this entire political process are overwhelmed with all this(OBAMA MANIA). McCain seems to have the only approach to the serious problems facing this great nation. As far as giving out more hand-outs to corporate America and the welfare system we should seek out more ways to make these existing programs are more cost effective and have the right kind of oversight to ensure that our tax dollars are no longer wasted on the fraud and bad decisions made by these people. One way would be to DRUG TEST all recipients of welfare, to ensure they are doing their best to rise above the economic crises now facing them and their future families, while also putting more bit into our current dollars being spent to fight the drugs and violence associated with this plague.
September 25th, 2008 at 3:21 pm
RightChange.com is crap.
You don’t even have the balls to list what McMac’s plan is. Why? Cause his is no better than Obama’s?
All this kind of crap was said when Clinton was running. The fat cats don’t like to give up their toys when a Dem is in charge and gives the little guy a chance at a better life.
I would like to live getting more of my money and being taxed less for a decade/change?
I have no problem with a flat tax (13%) for everyone like Canada does.
Take 13¢ of every dollar I/we make, sound fair? I think so…
September 25th, 2008 at 5:46 pm
lies, who runs this site?? fox??
September 25th, 2008 at 6:22 pm
Good God the Right is full of idiots. It’s in the address, people: “RIGHTchange.com”. Of COURSE it’s a right-wing propaganda website. All that the Right HAS is propaganda. I’m really intrigued at the magnitude of ignorance that is continuously being displayed by these brain-washed idiots. Rightchange.com is nothing more than an extension of the voices of Rush Limbaugh, Fox News, and any other Right-wing propaganda machine. I’m ashamed of you people who blindly voted for President Bush; whether your reasons were because you were bought by the propaganda machine, you were scared into submission by the voices of that machine (vote for Bush or terrorists will GET you!), or ESPECIALLY if you ignorantly chose to vote “along party lines”. I and the rest of America–that is, the America that ISN’T brainwashed (literally) by the propaganda–am ashamed of you. America, because of your indolence, is now in a downward spiral that started the day that Bush decided (in his first term) to invade Iraq (BEFORE diplomacy was even attempted).
We forgave you for that–how could you have known? But then you elected him for another term. IDIOTS! The facts were there all along and everyone with sense could see it, but, of course, not the brainwashed, blind sheep who were told to be on the Right.
But go ahead, you sheep. Go on and believe more of the propaganda–like rightchange.com (oh yeah, non-profits traditionally use the “.org” extension, and this is well-mandated. You can’t call this a non-profit–it’s funded by the Republican Party, without question.). Go ahead and vote your country into more recession, a worsening world-wide reputation, and don’t forget to vote in MORE NEEDLESS DEATHS for the brave American soldiers abroad, who fight because they’re told to, and continue to die because of a stupid mistake that Bush made in 2003. Go on and vote down our country’s future. When Russia trades places America as the great superpower of the world, I and the other non-Sheep of the USA will remember what you’ve done.
By the way, for you brilliant mathematicians out there:
You can’t run a government without taxes. You can’t expect to receive federal aide when your city gets destroyed. You can’t expect your car to drive when the highways aren’t maintained. You can’t expect your utility bills to be regulated (they would be astronomically higher without that “horrible” government regulation). And most importantly, without taxes, you can’t expect your borders to be protected. When you pay taxes, as long as there aren’t big-wig republicans mis-allocating the budget, then you’re actually paying for things that you use and rely upon. Your tax money is for your own benefit. Idiots. Good God you’re a bunch of sheep.
September 25th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
SPOT ON SMERRITT!!!
September 25th, 2008 at 9:14 pm
I am piping mad about this bailout. This is socialism with a capital “S”. We are paying more taxes so congress, Bush and the senate can spend, spend, spend. They have been overspending and printing money when need devaluing our dollar. Bush said we need to sure up credit so people can go more into debt? What!! Consuming spending is not a sound economy. Building Capital by lowering the national deficit will helpl keep our currency in tact and that boost the economy. Hitler printed money to fund his concuring of the world and Germany’s economy crumbled. American will do the same if we don’t overthrow Pelosi, Bush, and Harry Reid out of congress. I don’t like anyone in Washington because the live by the same central dogma. Credit is good and we have an unlimited bank account. It is discusting. I am tired of paying high taxes and having less money to feed my family. Even at the grocery I pay several taxes. Next they are going to charge a carbon credit tax too. You mark my word, Al Gore, Pelosi, and Gerry Brown all have this carbon credit agenda because Al Gore and the other shareholders in his carbon footprint company will make millions off of this deal. I just want to overthrough our government. Have a recall like we did in California!!!It works!!!I will go to Washington DC!!!This government even makes John Adams look like a conservative!
September 25th, 2008 at 9:17 pm
Oh yeah!! the Mobsters only charge a flat tax of 10% and they get things done!!! Through out the politicians and hire the Mob!!! they would do a better job!!
September 25th, 2008 at 10:08 pm
If the changes over the past eight years in the economy, the budget deficit, the national debt, our standing in the world, the readiness of our armed forces to respond to a real threat and the energy situation are the kind of right kind of change, then yeah, right-on RightChange!
September 26th, 2008 at 10:39 am
To SMerritt….NO one is opposed to paying taxes you idiot. Most people are opposed to paying a lot of taxes. I am opposed to paying for people who live off of the welfare system….who milk the system, both dems and republicans…right and left, red and blue…..illegals…..earmarks in congress………and oh, by the way…Biden put in his earmark for this new catastrophic bailout……..this isn’t right……..I’m not sticking up for Bush or anyone else but this current problem we have is a bipartisen thing……..both parties are responsible. It is your kind of thinking that blocks any resolutions for us to work together.
and again SMerritt, you sound like a left wing idiot.
September 26th, 2008 at 12:12 pm
To SMeritt: If you only pulled your head out of Obama’s behind for a couple of seconds, you would see clearly what’s going on in our beloved nation. If you want to live in a socialist republic, why don’t you move to China, or Cuba, hell; even California.
I spent 22 years of my life defending OUR way of life, and our freedom.. My vote is the only tool I have to keep these alive. A vote for Obama is just a step closer to throwing it all out.
Since you challenge the brilliant mathematicians, why don’t you lead the argument on why is it that I have to pay for your failures? Why do the working class have to provide health insurance for someone who decided not to go to school, and get educated (much like your beloved leader did)? Why do corporations and small business have to get the dopers and the freeloaders a $1000.00 check, even when they have aported NOTHING to the national budget? The great majority of us think NOT. We had to work our skin off, one career after the other to provide for our families. WE paid for our kid’s education by the daily sacrifice of going to work. And by the way, we pay our taxes when due. Every time! We don’t bitch abou it, we don’t complain, and we DO care about this grea country of ours. Let us keep it that way!!!
September 26th, 2008 at 1:37 pm
Name calling doesn’t support communication, only further rancor. Our family is not a herd of sheep. My son and husband are United States Marines, and both have voluntarily served in combat many times. My son is now recovering from a near-fatal combat wound. My husband is also a firefighter in civilian life. They have and still stand ready to lay their lives on the line for your freedoms.
Take responsibility for YOUR lives. If you do, maybe our elected will know we are all watching and holding them accountable for their actions (or lack of them). Get the facts, then vote with your mind, not your emotions.
September 26th, 2008 at 2:42 pm
Where do you guys get your facts? I’m looking for any evidence for any of the 10 things you listed…I want to make the right choice, but simply listing 10 things and calling them “facts” isn’t helping.
September 30th, 2008 at 9:17 am
To Jason:
Look at your Tax table at IRS.GOV. After you do that, go to your local library and look at a tax return book for 2002 (before the Bush tax cuts, which Obama is eliminating), and then go to the Obama’s web site, and look at his tax plan. A vote for him will improve your sex life - YOU WILL GET SCREWED!!!!
October 2nd, 2008 at 5:19 pm
THE ” DEMOCRATS ” ARE FAMOUS FOR “TAX & SPEND ”
POLICIES, THAT IS WHY YOU CAN COUNT ON SENATOR

IS GOING TO GIVE A TAX CUT TO 94% OF THOSE THAT
PAY TAXES, OH YEAH
THIS PERSON (SENATOR OBAMA ) DOESN’T UNDERSTAND
ANY THING THAT HE HAS PROPOSED TO DATE. MAYBE
IT IS BECAUSE HE HAS ONLY BEEN IN THE US SENATE
A TOTAL OF ” 143 DAYS ” MOST OF THAT HAS BEEN
ON THE CAMPAIGN TRAIL FOR THE “PRESIDENCY “.
THE BEST THING TO DO IS VOTE FOR MCCAIN&PALIN.
THEN GIVE THEM A CHANCE “TO CLEAN UP WASHINGTON”
BY TAKING ACTION AGAINST THE “PEOPLE ” WHO
CAUSED THIS ” RESCUE ” NAMELY:RINES,JOHNSON,
GERLICK,DODD,CONRAD,FRANK,& RANGEL,OH YEAH
October 3rd, 2008 at 10:13 am
Right on F.Natali! Another thing with these tax and spend OUR money democrates, my regret is that McCain is going to take the hit for what the dems did so many years ago with Barney Frank and Friends regarding Freddie and Fannie. I think they should be jailed, held accountable. He is one now trying to ‘fix’ it but jesh, he is one of them that screwed it up in the first place……I don’t trust him, them!

Your depiction of Obama’s tax plans are blatantly false. Why must you resort to lying? Do you think that really helps your cause? No wonder the country is sick of right-wing politics.
