OK, here is a tip from a Floridian. When you advising an evacuation turn traffic around on the "in-bound" lanes. In other words the West bound lanes on I-10 and I-12 from Mississippi to N.O. and the South bound lanes of I-55 and I-59 and can be used to drive East or North. Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Texas have preplanned for this type of opperation. Maybe now that Bobby Jindal is in charge, he'll figure that out. I certainly would not expect Ray Nagin to.

Mayor Ray Nagin has ordered mandatory evacuations. "This is the real deal, not a test," Nagin said. He added that residents that did not heed the warning would be"one of the biggest mistakes of your life." Nagin made it clear that the city will not offer emergency services to anyone who chooses to stay behind.
